Cartelègue is a French commune with 1,244 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Gironde in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Aquitaine ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Blaye and the canton L'Estuaire (until 2015: canton Blaye ). The inhabitants are called Cartelèguais .
geography
Cartelègue is located near the estuary of the Gironde , about 38 kilometers north of Bordeaux . Cartelègue is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Étauliers in the north, Reignac in the north-east, Campugnan in the east and south-east, Saint-Paul in the south, Mazion in the west and south-west and Eyrans in the west and north-west.
