Cavignac is a French commune with 2,065 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Gironde in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Blaye and is part of the canton of Le Nord-Gironde (until 2015: canton of Saint-Savin ). The inhabitants are called Cavignacais .

geography

Cavignac is located about 33 kilometers north-northeast of Bordeaux . The Saye limits the community in the east. Cavignac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Mariens in the north and northwest, Laruscade in the east, Marsas in the south and Cézac in the south and west.

The Route nationale 10 runs through the municipality . The station is on the Paris – Bordeaux and Chartres – Bordeaux lines .
