Saugon is a commune with 475 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Gironde department in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Blaye and is part of the canton of Le Nord-Gironde (until 2015: canton of Saint-Savin ).

Saugon is about 38 kilometers north of Bordeaux . Saugon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Reignac in the north, Saint-Savin in the east and north-east, Saint-Christoly-de-Blaye in the south and east, Saint-Girons-d'Aiguevives in the south-east, Générac in the west and Campugnan in the west and north-west.
