Virsac is a French commune with 1,112 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Gironde department in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Blaye and the canton of Le Nord-Gironde (until 2015: canton of Saint-André-de-Cubzac ). The inhabitants are called Virsacais .

geography

Virsac is located about 23 kilometers north-northeast of Bordeaux . Virsac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Peujard in the north, Val de Virvée in the east and south-east, Saint-André-de-Cubzac in the south, Saint-Gervais in the west and south-west and Saint-Laurent-d'Arce in the north-west.

Autoroute A10 and Route nationale 10 on the eastern edge of the municipality lead through the municipality.
