Générac is a French municipality with 541 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Gironde in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Blaye and is part of the canton of Le Nord-Gironde (until 2015: canton of Saint-Savin ). The inhabitants are called Généracais .

Générac is located about 37 kilometers north of Bordeaux . Générac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Campugnan in the north and west, Saugon in the east and northeast, Saint-Girons-d'Aiguevives in the south and southeast and Saint-Paul in the southwest.
