Saint-Paul is a French commune with a population of 935 (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Gironde in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Aquitaine ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Blaye and the canton L'Estuaire (until 2015: canton Blaye ). The inhabitants are called Saint-Paulais .

geography

Saint-Paul is located near the estuary of the Gironde , about 34 kilometers north of Bordeaux . Saint-Paul is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Mazion , Cartelègue and Campugnan in the north, Générac in the northeast, Saint-Girons-d'Aiguevives in the east, Berson in the south and southeast, Cars in the south and southwest, Saint-Martin-Lacaussade in the west and Southwest and Saint-Seurin-de-Cursac to the west and northwest.

The former route nationale 137 (today's D137) runs through the municipality .
