Braud-et-Saint-Louis is a municipality with 1605 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the French department of Gironde in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Blaye and the canton of L'Estuaire (until 2015: canton of Saint-Ciers-sur-Gironde ). The inhabitants are called Braudiers .
geography
Braud-et-Saint-Louis, at the mouth of the river Livenne in the estuary of the Gironde about 45 kilometers north of Bordeaux . Braud-et-Saint-Louis is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Ciers-sur-Gironde in the north, Saint-Aubin-de-Blaye in the east, Étauliers in the south-east, Anglade in the south, Saint-Androny in the south and south-west and - on the other side of the Gironde - Saint-Estèphe to the west.
The Blayais nuclear power plant is located in the municipality .
