Bayon-sur-Gironde ( Occitan : Baion ) is a French municipality with 704 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Gironde department in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Blaye and the canton L'Estuaire (until 2015: canton Bourg ).

Bayon-sur-Gironde is located about 24 kilometers north of Bordeaux on the Gironde estuary . Bayon-sur-Gironde is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Comps in the north, Samonac in the northeast, Saint-Seurin-de-Bourg in the east, Ambès in the southeast, Macau in the south, Margaux-Cantenac in the southwest and Gauriac in the west and over the river island Northwest.
