The name "Arce" comes from the word "Arx", which means something like fortress.

history

Finds of blades and arrowheads prove a settlement of Neanderthals and Cro-Magnon people since prehistoric times, the Middle Paleolithic (90,000 years BC). There are two Romanesque churches in the Middle Ages.
