Saint-André-de-Cubzac is a French municipality with 11,464 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Gironde in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The city belongs to the Arrondissement of Blaye and is the main town ( bureau centralisateur ) of the canton of Le Nord-Gironde (until 2015: chef-lieu of the canton of Saint-André-de-Cubzac ). The inhabitants are called Cubzaguais .
geography
Saint-André-de-Cubzac is located about 20 kilometers north-northeast of Bordeaux on the east bank of the Dordogne . Saint-André-de-Cubzac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Virsac in the north, Val de Virvée in the north and northeast, La Lande-de-Fronsac in the east, Saint-Romain-la-Virvée in the southeast, and Cubzac-les-Ponts in the south , Saint-Vincent-de-Paul to the west and Saint-Gervais to the northwest. The Départementstraße D1010 (formerly Route nationale 10 ) leads through the municipality as does the Autoroute A10 and the former Route nationale 670 (today D670). The municipality's train station is on the Chartres – Bordeaux line .
