Marcenais is a French municipality with 772 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Gironde in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Blaye and is part of the canton of Le Nord-Gironde (until 2015: canton of Saint-Savin ). The inhabitants are called Cavignacais .
geography
Marcenais is located about 30 kilometers northeast of Bordeaux . The Saye limits the community in the northeast. Marcenais is surrounded by the neighboring communities Laruscade in the north, Tizac-de-Lapouyade in the east, Périssac in the southeast, Saint-Genès-de-Fronsac in the south, Salignac in the southwest and Marsas in the west.
