David Davis

David Davis (born November 6, 1959 in Johnson City , Tennessee ) is an American politician . Between 2007 and 2009 he represented the state of Tennessee in the US House of Representatives .

Career

David Davis studied at East Tennessee State University in 1979 and then until 1983 with a correspondence course at California College . His specialty was medicine and breathing. Until 1991 he continued his education at Milligan College in Tennessee. He later became president of Advanced Home Health Care Inc.

Politically, Davis joined the Republican Party . In 1996 he ran unsuccessfully for his party's nomination for the congressional elections. Between 1999 and 2006 he was an MP in the Tennessee House of Representatives . In the 2006 congressional elections , he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the first constituency of Tennessee , where he succeeded William L. Jenkins on January 3, 2007 . Since he was defeated in the primary elections of his party in 2008, he could only complete one legislative period in Congress until January 3, 2009 . Davis was considered conservative in both the state parliament and Congress.

Today he is President of Shared Health Services Inc. He has a son with his wife Joyce. The family lives in Johnson City.
