Divizia A 1970/71

The Divizia A 1971/72 was the 34th season in the history of the Romanian football league Divizia A. It began on August 21, 1971 and ended on June 26, 1972 . The game was closed from mid-December to mid-March ( winter break ).

Champion was the first time FC Argeş Piteşti .

The 16 teams played against each other twice on 30 match days. The two last-placed teams got into the Divizia B from. There were two points for a win, one point for a draw and no points for a defeat. If two or more teams were tied at the end of the season, the goal difference decided .
