The Allsvenskan 1948/49 was the 25th season of the highest Swedish football league . The season began on August 8, 1948 and ended on June 6, 1949.
Last year's runner-up, Malmö FF , became Swedish champions and thus ended the series from IFK Norrköping , who had won four championship titles in a row in the previous years. At the other end of the table, the two promoted Örebro SK and Landskrona BoIS had to go straight back to the second division .
