Galfingue (German: Galfingen ) is a French commune with 805 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haut-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ).

geography

Galfingue is about twelve kilometers southwest of Mulhouse , neighboring communities are Heimsbrunn in the north, Hochstatt and Frœningen in the east, Illfurth in the south, Spechbach-le-Haut in the south and Bernwiller in the west .

history

From 1871 until the end of the First World War , Galfingue belonged as part of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine to the German Empire and was assigned to the district of Mulhouse in the district of Upper Alsace .
