Hellhof is a district of the community of Schalksmühle in the Märkisches Kreis in the administrative district of Arnsberg in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The district is located in a forest area above the Volmetal south of Muhle and north of Linscheid .

Other neighboring towns in the Schalksmühl municipality are Linscheiderbecke , Linscheiderschule , Muhlerhagen , Kämpershof , Stallhaus , Kuhlenhagen , Im Dahl , Schlüchtern , Twieströmen , Walze and Pulvermühle , as well as Muhlerohl , Muhler Ölmühle and Lindenteich in the Hagen city area.

history

Hellhof emerged in the mid-20th century and was initially part of the community Hülscheid in office Lüdenscheid in county Altena . The location does not appear on the TK25's measuring table sheets until the 1955 edition, from the 1962 edition to the 1978 edition it is marked as Hellhof .

In 1969, the communities of Hülscheid and Schalksmühle were merged to form the large community ( unified community ) of Schalksmühle in the Altena district, and Hellhof has since been politically part of Schalksmühle, which in 1975 became part of the newly created Märkisches Kreis due to the Sauerland / Paderborn law .
