Neuenbrücke is a district of the community of Schalksmühle in the Märkisches Kreis in the administrative district of Arnsberg in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The district emerges from a residential area that is located in the Volmetal on today's federal road 54 near the core town on the site of a quarry . Today the living space is dominated by the main station of the Schalksmühle fire department. The name of the place was given by a bridge over the Volme, which before the construction of the bridge of the state road L868 enabled a river to be crossed at the core town east of Dahlerbrück and which is still accessible to pedestrians today.

Other neighboring towns in the Schalksmühler municipality are in addition to the core town Flaßkamp , Hütte , Klagebach , Dahlhausen , Waldesruh , Oberklagebach , Dahlerbrück , Ölken , Am Hagen , Asenbach , Am Neuenhaus , Löh and Wippekühl .

history

New bridge was built late 19th century and was initially part of the community Hülscheid in office Lüdenscheid in county Altena . As of the Prussian new admission in 1913, the location is unlabeled on the TK25 measuring table , but it is recorded as Neuenbrücke in the 1921 edition .

The community encyclopedia for the province of Westphalia in 1895 gives a number of eight residents for Neuenbrück who lived in a residential building. In 1905 seven houses and 71 inhabitants are given.

In 1969, the municipalities of Hülscheid and Schalksmühle were merged to form the large municipality ( unified municipality ) of Schalksmühle in the Altena district and since then Flaßkamp has belonged politically to Schalksmühle, which in 1975 became part of the newly created Märkisches Kreis due to the Sauerland / Paderborn law .
