Location and description

The place to live is on the Sterbecke stream south of Rölvede near the city limits of Hagen . A small connecting road connects the former watermill to Rölvede and Rummenohl .

Other neighboring places in the municipality are Reineberge , Haue , Kamp , Albringwerde , Rosenhagen , and Selkinghausen in the Hagen city area.

The small rest area Rölveder Mühle on the federal highway 45 located about one kilometer to the north was named after the place.

history

The Rölveder mill was built in the second half of the 19th century and was part of the municipality Hülscheid in office Lüdenscheid in county Altena . An upper ditch branched off from the death corner and was dammed in a reservoir. Together with the water of the Rölvede brook flowing down from Rölvede, the mill was operated with the dammed water.

The place is from the Prussian new recording from 1892 on Ordnance Survey as the TK25 Rölvedermühle listed, only on current issues, the notation is Rölveder mill used.

The municipality and estate district statistics of the province of Westphalia lists Rölvedermühle in 1871 as a mill with two houses and 14 residents. The municipality encyclopedia for the province of Westphalia from 1887 gives a number of 73 inhabitants who lived in 13 houses. In 1895 the place had a house with seven inhabitants, in 1905 two houses and nine inhabitants are given.

In 1969, the municipalities of Hülscheid and Schalksmühle were merged to form an unofficial large municipality ( unitary municipality ) of Schalksmühle in the Altena district and Rölveder Mühle has since been politically part of Schalksmühle, which became part of the newly created Märkische Kreis in 1975 due to the Sauerland / Paderborn law .
