Location of Kragelohshammer in Schalksmühle

The Kragelohshammer , also known as Nahmer Hammer , was a hammer mill and residential area on Nahmerbach in what is now the municipality of Schalksmühle in the Märkisches Kreis in the administrative district of Arnsberg in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ). Today the former location is a desert .

Location and description

The hammer mill was located in the Nahmerbachtal directly on the municipal border with Nachrodt-Wiblingwerde, north of Albringwerde and downstream from the Brenscheider Kornmühle and oil mill .

Other neighboring towns were Rosenhagen , Rölvede , Winkeln and Winklerheide as well as Obernahmer , Buchenhellenstück and Brenscheid in the municipality of Nachrodt-Wiblingwerde.

history

The Kragelohshammer belonged to the Winkelner farmers of the parish Hülscheid until the 19th century and in 1839 was part of the municipality of Hülscheid in the mayor's office of Halver in the Altena district . The place categorized as Reckhammer under the name Nahmer according to the location and distance table of the government district Arnsberg consisted of a manufacturing facility in 1839. At that time, five residents lived in the residential area, all of whom were evangelicals.

In 1844 the municipality of Hülscheid with Kragelohshammer was split off from the Halver office and assigned to the newly established Lüdenscheid office .

The place is not labeled on the Prussian first recording from 1840. From the Prussian new admission of 1892, the place is recorded on the TK25 measuring table as Kragelohhammer , from the edition 1013 as former. Cantilever hammer . As of the 1942 edition, the place is no longer recorded.

In 1969, the municipalities of Hülscheid and Schalksmühle were merged to form an unofficial large municipality ( unitary municipality ) of Schalksmühle in the Altena district and the location of the Kragelohshammer has since been politically part of Schalksmühle, which became part of the newly created Märkisches Kreis in 1975 due to the Sauerland / Paderborn law .
