history

Ohler mountain emerged at the end of the 19th century and was initially part of the community Hülscheid in office Lüdenscheid in county Altena . From the Prussian new admission of 1892, the place is recorded on the TK25 measuring table as Ohlerberg .

The municipality lexicon for the province of Westphalia in 1885 gives a number of seven inhabitants for Linscheid who lived in a residential building. In 1895 the place had eight houses with 110 inhabitants, in 1905 six houses and 59 inhabitants are given.

In 1969, the municipalities of Hülscheid and Schalksmühle were merged to form an unofficial large municipality ( unitary municipality ) of Schalksmühle in the Altena district and since then Ohlerberg has belonged politically to Schalksmühle, which became part of the newly created Märkische Kreis in 1975 due to the Sauerland / Paderborn law .
