Location of Hermannshöh in Schalksmühle

Hermannshöh is a residential area in the municipality of Schalksmühle in the Märkisches Kreis in the administrative district of Arnsberg in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany).

location

Hermannshöh is located above the larger district of Strücken on the western slope of the Volmetal near the city limits of Lüdenscheid . The Hagen – Dieringhausen railway runs below the village in the valley, on the other side of the river the federal road 54 was laid.

Other neighboring towns are Halverscheiderohl , Lauenscheiderohl , Schlöten , Nöllenhammer , Niederworth , Niederwippekuhl , Wippekühl and the Worth desert , as well as Hammerhaus , Linnepermühle , Lehmecke , Linnepe and Solmecke in the Lüdenscheid urban area.

Due to the growing residential development in Strücken, the place lost its independent position from the middle of the 20th century.

history

Hermannshöh, which initially belonged to the rural community and the Halver Office , was first mentioned in a document in 1900 and was probably created only slightly earlier around 1890.

The place is not labeled on the Prussian new recording from 1892 on the TK25 measuring table , from the 1921 edition it is then continuously labeled as Hermannshöh .

The municipality lexicon for the province of Westphalia in 1905 gives a number of eleven inhabitants for Hermannshöh who lived in a residential building.

On October 1, 1912, the area around the place was spun off from the municipality of Halver and assigned to the newly founded municipality of Schalksmühle.
