Wersbecke is a district of the community of Schalksmühle in the Märkisches Kreis in the administrative district of Arnsberg in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The living space is east of the federal motorway 45 north of the Lüdenscheid-Nord junction on the ridge between the valleys of the Sterbecke and the Nahmerbach . A local road connects the place with angles and the state road 692.

Other neighboring towns in the municipality are Rehweg , Vormwald , Mesekendahl , Brake , Sterbecke , Worth , Kuhlenkeppig and Schnarüm .

history

Wersbecke was built in the second half of the 19th century and was part of the municipality Hülscheid in office Lüdenscheid in county Altena . The place is recorded on the Prussian new recording from 1892 on the TK25 measuring table as Wersbach , on later editions as Wersbecke .

The municipality and estate district statistics of the province of Westphalia in 1871 listed the place under the name Wersbach as an establishment with one house and eight residents. The municipality lexicon for the province of Westphalia from 1887 gives a number of eight inhabitants for Wersbach who lived in a residential building. In 1895 the place had a house with four inhabitants, in 1905 one house and six inhabitants are given.

In 1969, the municipalities Hülscheid and Schalksmuehle became the official free large village ( unified community together Schalksmühle in circles Altena) and Wersbecke heard since politically Schalksmühle, in 1975 due to the Sauerland / Paderborn-law part of the newly created Märkischer Kreis was.
