history

Until the 19th century, Ramsloh belonged to the Midder peasantry of the parish of Hülscheid . From 1816 the place was part of the municipality of Hülscheid in the mayor's office Halver in the Altena district , in 1818 six people lived in the place. The place categorized under the name Ramsloh as Kotten according to the place and distance table of the government district Arnsberg had a house and a factory or mill in 1839. At that time, 20 residents lived in the village, all of whom were evangelicals.

In 1844 the municipality of Hülscheid with Ramsloh was split off from the Halver Office and assigned to the newly established Lüdenscheid Office .

The place is not labeled on the Prussian first recording from 1840. From the Prussian new admission in 1892, the place is recorded on the TK25 measuring table as Ramsloh .

The municipality and estate district statistics of the province of Westphalia in 1871 listed the place as Kotten under the name Ramsloh with one house and six residents. The municipality lexicon for the province of Westphalia in 1885 gives a number of nine inhabitants for Ramsloh who lived in a residential building. In 1895 the place also has a house with nine inhabitants, in 1905 one house and four inhabitants are given.

In the 1920s / 30s, today's national road 561 was laid north past the place. The settlement began to grow from the middle of the 20th century. At that time, a tower was built in the place that only lasted a few years.

In 1969, the municipalities of Hülscheid and Schalksmühle were merged to form an unofficial municipality ( unitary municipality ) of Schalksmühle in the Altena district, and Ramsloh has since been politically part of Schalksmühle, which in 1975 became part of the newly created Märkische Kreis due to the Sauerland / Paderborn law .

In the 1970s, the gaps between Ramsloh and the expanding Westhöhe and Spormecke residential areas were closed, creating a closed settlement area.
