Herbecke is a district of Schalksmühle in the Märkisches Kreis in the administrative district of Arnsberg in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Herbecke is located south of the Schalksmühler core town in the valley of the Hälver and in the lower area of ​​the lower valley slopes on the orographic left side of the river. Neighboring locations are Rotthausen , Mathagen , Herberge , Buchholz , Löh , Am Neuenhaus , Hälver , Am Alten Hammer and Krampenhammer , as well as Othmaringhausen , Wiene and In der Hälver in the Halveran urban area . history

Herbecke appears for the first time as two individual houses in the Hälvertal on the measuring table sheets of the TK25 in the 1921 edition. From the middle of the 20th century, the settlement grew to the north parallel to the Hälver (street Am Hälverhang) and to the west along the Herbecke brook up the slope .
