Heedfeld is on the city limits to the district town of Lüdenscheid and close to the Lüdenscheid-Nord junction of the federal motorway 45 . As of July 1, 2014, Heedfeld had 1612 inhabitants.

Meanwhile, Heedfeld and the formerly independent district of Eichholz form a closed settlement area.

history

Until the 19th century, Heedfeld belonged to the Midder farmers of the parish of Hülscheid . From 1816 the place was part of the municipality of Hülscheid in the mayor's office Halver in the Altena district , in 1818 72 inhabitants lived in the place. The place, categorized as a church village, letter station and school location according to the location and distance table of the government district of Arnsberg , owned a church, two public buildings, 14 residential buildings, three factories or mills and ten agricultural buildings under the name Hedfeld in 1839 . At that time 114 inhabitants lived in the place, all of them evangelical denominations.

In 1844, the municipality of Hülscheid with Heedfeld was split off from the Halver office and assigned to the newly established Lüdenscheid office .

A road ran through Heedfeld from Rummenohl to Lüdenscheid, today's state road 561. In 1844, the municipality of Hülscheid with Heedfeld was split off from the Halver office and assigned to the newly established Lüdenscheid office .

The place is recorded on the Prussian first recording from 1840 under the name Heedfeld . From the Prussian new admission of 1892 the place is recorded on the TK25 measuring table as Heedfeld .

The municipality and district statistics of the province of Westphalia in 1871 list the place as a village with 25 houses and 161 inhabitants. The municipality lexicon for the province of Westphalia in 1885 gives a number of 151 inhabitants for Heedfeld who lived in 24 houses. In 1895 the place had 25 houses with 156 inhabitants, in 1905 25 houses and 160 inhabitants are given.

In 1969, the municipalities of Hülscheid and Schalksmühle were merged to form an unofficial municipality ( unitary municipality ) of Schalksmühle in the Altena district, and Heedfeld has since been politically part of Schalksmühle, which became part of the newly created Märkische Kreis in 1975 due to the Sauerland / Paderborn law .

Architectural monuments

The Protestant parish church in Heedfeld is a barrel-vaulted hall church from 1720 with plastered stone masonry and a three-story tower. The monument with a pulpit altar from the time it was built has been entered in the list of monuments since December 15, 1983.

Infrastructure

General

A few years ago a discounter and a bakery were opened in the northeast of Heedfeld in the direction of Hülscheid, which, together with a petrol station in the center, ensure the basic supply in the district. The offer is supplemented by a bank branch as well as other service providers and dealers.

In Heedfeld there is a community elementary school as well as a kindergarten of the Protestant parish. Medical care is provided by a general practitioner, a specialist in pediatric and adolescent medicine and a dentist.

In addition, a restaurant restaurant with its beer garden, which has been centrally located since 1870, is a meeting place for numerous local associations and a popular event space for private and public celebrations.

The Dornbusch animal shelter in the Heedfeld area, which is operated by the Tierschutzverein Lüdenscheid und Umgebung eV, is well known in the entire Märkisches Kreis. The animal welfare association was founded in 1913 and currently has around 450 members.

industrial Estate

In recent years, a joint industrial area with the district town of Lüdenscheid has been created in the south-east of Heedfeld towards Freisenberg . Many small and large companies have settled there. Above all, the proximity to the motorway and Lüdenscheid is seen as a great location advantage for the industrial area. Therefore, by March 2012, all the properties in the new Heedfeld industrial estate on the grounds of the town of Schalksmühle (more than 60,000 square meters of pure industrial space (excluding traffic areas and the like)) were sold to a total of seven companies. Two companies based there have already secured two option areas, each around 4,000 square meters in size. Considerations are currently underway for the creation of new commercial space.

On February 6, 2013, a report appeared in the Lüdenscheider Nachrichten that another Lüdenscheider company wanted to settle in the intermunicipal industrial area of Heedfeld. The company plans to invest around six million euros in a 6,000 square meter new building, plus further investments in new machines. Due to the lack of expansion options at the previous location in Lüdenscheid-Bruges , the company tried to find a suitable new property and then found it in Heedfeld. According to the company, extensions to the new location in Heedfeld are also possible.

"Am golf course" development area

The new development area "Am golf course" with numerous single-family houses extends in the direction of the Amphop district of Schalksmühl . Due to the proximity to the A 45 motorway and the district town of Lüdenscheid and due to the green surroundings, many families with children have settled in this newly created part of Heedfeld. An extensive golf course extends right next to the new housing estate.

Sports

The TuS Linscheid Heedfeld eV, based in Heedfeld, was founded on January 1st, 1914 and celebrates the 100th anniversary of the association in 2014. In addition to volleyball and handball as well as a football department, the association offers courses for children and adults in the field of leisure, family and popular sports.

On February 3, 2014, the construction and planning committee of the community of Schalksmühle decided to build a new sports facility, from which the TuS Linscheid Heedfeld and TuS Stöcken-Dahlebrück clubs in particular benefit. In the Kuhlenhagen area bordering on Heedfeld, for example, an artificial turf sports field with a new spectator stand is being built for a total of around 765,000 euros.
