Am Neuenhaus, which belongs to the parish of Halver , was first mentioned in a document at the end of the 18th century and was a split off from Schalksmühle.

In 1818 four residents lived in the village. 1838 belonged to the Neuenhaus of the Oeckinghauser peasantry within the mayor's office Halver . The place categorized as Kotten according to the place and distance table of the government district Arnsberg had a house and an agricultural building at that time. At that time, eight people lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant.

The place is not labeled on the Prussian first recording from 1840. From the new Prussian admission of 1892, the place is recorded on the TK25 measuring table as Am Neuenhaus or Am Neuenhaus .

The municipality and estate district statistics of the province of Westphalia in 1871 listed the place as Kotten with one house and 15 residents. The municipality lexicon for the province of Westphalia in 1885 gives a number of 14 inhabitants for Am Neuenhaus , who lived in two houses. In 1895 the place had a house with 15 inhabitants and belonged to the Protestant parish Schalksmühle, in 1905 the place had six houses and 40 inhabitants.

On October 1, 1912, the area around the place was spun off from the municipality of Halver and assigned to the newly founded municipality of Schalksmühle.
