history

Im Dahl was first mentioned in a document in 1449, but the time of origin of the settlement is assumed to be between 1200 and 1400 towards the end of the first great medieval clearing period. In the Dahl there is a split from Rotthausen.

Until the 19th century the place belonged to the Bühren peasantry of the parish of Breckerfeld . From 1816 the place was part of the country church Breckerfeld in the mayor's office Breckerfeld in the district of Hagen , in 1818 23 inhabitants lived in the place. The place categorized as a courtyard according to the location and distance table of the government district of Arnsberg had six residential buildings and two agricultural buildings in 1839. There were 28 residents living in the village for this, all of whom were evangelicals.

The place is recorded on the Prussian first recording from 1840 as Dahl . From the Prussian new admission of 1892, the place is recorded on the TK25 measuring table as Im Dahl .

The municipality and estate district statistics of the province of Westphalia in 1871 listed the place as a farm under the name im Dahl with six houses and 39 inhabitants. The municipality encyclopedia for the province of Westphalia in 1885 gives Im Dahl a number of 65 inhabitants who lived in six houses. In 1895 the place had seven houses with 55 inhabitants.

The rural community of Breckerfeld with Im Dahl was combined with the town of Breckerfeld in 1899 to form the expanded town of Breckerfeld. In 1905 eleven houses and 110 inhabitants are given.

On January 1, 1970, as part of the municipal reorganization in North Rhine-Westphalia, the local area Im Dahl was split off from Breckerfeld and incorporated into Schalksmühle by the law for the reorganization of the Ennepe-Ruhr district . Since then, the place has belonged politically to Schalksmühle, which in 1975 became part of the newly created Märkische Kreis due to the Sauerland / Paderborn law .
