Spormecke is a residential area in the municipality of Schalksmühle in the Märkisches Kreis in the administrative district of Arnsberg in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The district is located on the Schalksmühler plateau south of state road 561 and east of district road 36 to Klagebach . The place has grown together with the neighboring residential areas Ramsloh and Westhöhe to form a closed settlement area, which forms today's district of Ramsloh. The Spormecke stream of the same name rises near the village .

The Spormecke community elementary school and a fire station of the volunteer fire brigade are located at Spormecke . The school was built in front of the settlement.

Spormecke is a young district and was only created in the middle of the 20th century. The place was part of the community Hülscheid in office Lüdenscheid in county Altena . The place is recorded for the first time in the 1942 edition on the TK25 measuring table , from the 1971 edition with the inscription Spormecke . The school is already marked on the 1935 edition.
