Distribution in Germany

The broadcasting group RTL Deutschland planned to phase out DVB-T by the beginning of 2014. According to the information, for example, in the greater Munich area, the DVB-T offer of the affiliated stations was terminated in August 2013 and due to fixed-term contracts, DVB-T broadcasting would practically be up to 2014 was discontinued nationwide. The managing director of RTL Interactive justified the step, among other things, with a lack of planning security, since the digital frequencies are particularly popular with telecommunications companies and the Federal Ministry of Economics does not want to guarantee the broadcasters the use of the frequencies in the long term. In the meantime, however, the exit plans have been revised. On March 29, 2017, the broadcast via DVB-T was stopped and has been broadcasting via DVB-T2HD since then.
