Moirax is a French commune with 1,156 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Lot-et-Garonne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Aquitaine ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Agen and the canton of L'Ouest Agenais (until 2015: canton of Laplume ). The inhabitants are called Moiracais .

geography

Moirax is located about seven kilometers south-southwest of Agen on the Garonne , which borders the municipality in the northeast. Moirax is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Le Passage in the north, Boé in the northeast, Layrac in the east, Marmont-Pachas in the south, Laplume in the southwest, Aubiac in the west and Estillac in the northwest.

The A62 autoroute runs through the municipality .
