geography
Lusignan-Petit is located in southwest France, 10 kilometers northwest of Agen and 2 kilometers southwest of Lake Négenou ( Lac de Négenou ) between Lot and Garonne in the Pays des Coteaux Dorés . Neighboring municipalities of Lusignan-Petit are Prayssas in the north, Madaillan in the northeast, Colayrac-Saint-Cirq in the southeast and Saint-Hilaire-de-Lusignan in the south. Attractions
The Notre-Dame church was completely renovated in 1557. The bell tower was rebuilt in 1821–1822 after the old bell tower collapsed in 1815. Some restoration work was carried out in the second half of the 19th century. Accordingly, the furniture of the church dates from the 16th and 19th centuries.
Lusignan-Petit has a fountain from 1833 and a covered public washhouse built in 1876.
In Mirassou, a so-called lieu-dit (place that bears the name ...) of Lusignan-Petit, there is a square limestone pigeon house that was built in 1690. In 1792 it was partially destroyed when it was connected to a residential building.
The moulin de Sabrecul windmill was probably built in the 18th century. It is recorded on the maps of Jean Dominique Comte de Cassini . It was completely restored in the 20th century.
economy
A large part of the population works in agriculture. Important branches of business are viticulture , agriculture and fruit growing. The municipal area are protected geographical indications (PGI) for domestic ducks for foie gras (Canard à foie gras du Sud-Ouest) , poultry (Volailles de Gascogne) , ham (Jambon de Bayonne) , prunes the type Prunus domestica d'Ente with the Designation Pruneau d'Agen and wines with the designation Agenais and Comté Tolosan .
