Port-Sainte-Marie is a French commune with 1,931 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Lot-et-Garonne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Agen and the canton of Le Confluent (until 2015: canton of Port-Sainte-Marie ). The inhabitants are called portais .
geography
Port-Sainte-Marie is about 19 kilometers west-northwest of Agen on the Garonne . Port-Sainte-Marie is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Aiguillon in the north and north-west, Lagarrigue in the north, Galapian in the north-east, Bazens in the east, Saint-Laurent in the south-east, Feugarolles in the south and Thouars-sur-Garonne in the west.
The former Routes nationales 113 (today's D813) and 130 (today's D930) run through the municipality .
