Saint-Nicolas-de-la-Balerme ( Occitan : Sent Nicolau de la Valerma ) is a French municipality with 408 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Lot-et-Garonne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Aquitaine ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Agen and the canton of Le Sud-Est Agenais (until 2015: canton of Astaffort ). The inhabitants are called Nicolaites .
geography
Saint-Nicolas-de-la-Balerme is 13 kilometers east-southeast of Agen . The Garonne delimits the municipality in the north, into which the Auroue , which forms the eastern municipal boundary, flows here. Saint-Nicolas-de-la-Balerme is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Jean-de-Thurac in the north and north-west, Saint-Romain-le-Noble in the north and north-east, Saint-Sixte in the east and Caudecoste in the south and west.
