Montagny ( Franco-Provençal: Montènyi ) is commune with 661 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Savoie in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Albertville and the canton of Moûtiers ( canton Bozel until 2015 ). It is also part of the Val Vanoise Tarentaise municipal association .
geography
Montagny is located about 28 kilometers south-southwest of Albertville on the Doron de Bozel , which borders the community in the south and south-east. Montagny is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Feissons-sur-Salins in the north and west, Notre-Dame-du-Pré in the north, Bozel in the east, Courchevel in the south and south-east and Brides-les-Bains in the south and south-west.
