The University of Nancy ( French Université de Nancy , sometimes Nancy-Université ) was the merger of the three universities of Nancy ( Lorraine ), which took place in March 2007:

Soon after, in a process started in 2009 and completed in 2012, the university merged with the Paul Verlaine University - Metz (UPVM) to form Université de Lorraine .

History of the university

The University of Nancy was founded as the University of Pont-à-Mousson on December 5, 1572 by the Dukes of Lorraine in Pont-à-Mousson and moved to Nancy in 1769 .
