Guinea took part in the 1996 Summer Olympics in the US metropolis of Atlanta with five athletes, one woman and four men, in five competitions in two sports.
Since 1968 it was the sixth participation of Guinea in the Summer Olympics .
Flag bearer
Athlete Joseph Loua carried the flag of Guinea during the opening ceremony on July 19 at the Centennial Olympic Stadium .
Attendees
The youngest member of the Guinea team was the athlete Sylla M'Mah Touré at 17 years and 241 days, the oldest was Robert Loua , who also competed in athletics, at 27 years and 207 days.
