Sights and culture
Architectural monuments
The list of monuments in Petershagen / Eggersdorf includes the monuments entered in the list of monuments of the state of Brandenburg.
- The Protestant Petruskirche Petershagen in Dorfstraße was completed in 1910 as a neo-Gothic brick building. It had two forerunners in the previous centuries: With the earliest mention of the village of Petershagen in the land register of Emperor Charles IV in 1375, a medieval stone building on the so-called Kirchberg is mentioned. In 1702 a baroque half-timbered building followed. The church was demolished in 1909 because it was in disrepair. The church was given its current name in September 2010.
The painting of the interior is based on the decorative forms of Art Nouveau . The high baroque pulpit altar was a gift from the parish of the village church in Berlin-Friedrichsfelde . The organ comes from the Berlin organ builder Gebrüder Dinse . A contemporary cross from El Salvador has been on the wall in the north aisle under the gallery since 2006 . The church was included in the Strausberg district monument list as early as 1982 due to its architectural and artistic importance.
- The Protestant village church in Eggersdorf on the corner of Wilhelmstrasse and Mühlenstrasse dates back to 1870 and, in addition to the typical neo-Gothic style elements, is particularly noticeable with its yellow brick. Since the completion of years of renovation work in 2000, the church has been extensively illuminated by the community.
- The Catholic Church of St. Hubertus in the Petershagener Elbestraße was built in 1933 by the church builder Josef Bachem in a rather simple, modern style. The St. Hubertus brass band, founded in 1961, belongs to the Catholic community. In addition to the musical design of church services, light music is also offered for secular occasions in Berlin and the surrounding area.
- On the memorial for the victims of fascism in front of the former Frederic-Joliot-Curie Comprehensive School on Eggersdorfer Strasse, there has been a plaque since 1987 for Kurt Schulze , the radio operator of the Schulze-Boysen / Harnack resistance group who was murdered on December 22, 1942 in Berlin-Plötzensee who lived in Petershagen in the 1930s.
societies
- The association Bauernvolk Eggersdorf e. V. was founded on March 20, 1999. Its primary purpose is "the promotion and cultural and historical maintenance of rural customs, especially in order to bring an annual market festival to life in Eggersdorf." Accordingly, a large village festival has been taking place in Eggersdorf every year on Ascension Day, at the center of which is primarily the presentation and revival of medieval customs and culture.
- The association Die Dorfmusikanten e. V. , founded in November 2002 by amateur musicians from Eggersdorf and the surrounding area, plays brass music as well as Dixieland , which in 2008 led to the founding of the group DOMU DIXIE JAZZ .
