Puyravault is a French municipality with 673 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Rochefort and is part of the canton of Surgères . The inhabitants are called Pyrates .
geography
Puyravault is located approximately 15 miles east of La Rochelle in the historic Aunis region . Puyravault is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Vouhé in the north and northeast, Surgères in the east and southeast, Chambon in the south and west and Bouhet in the northwest.
