Villette is a French municipality with 523 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Yvelines in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Mantes-la-Jolie and the canton of Bonnières-sur-Seine . The inhabitants are called Villettois .
geography
Villette is located about eight kilometers south of Mantes-la-Jolie and covers an area of 463 hectares. Neighboring communities are:
- Vert in the north,
- Breuil-Bois-Robert in the east,
- Arnouville-lès-Mantes in the southeast,
- Rosay in the south and
- Boinvilliers to the west.
Toponymy
The name Villette goes back to the Latin name Villetta , which denoted a small, rural domain.
