The ASB Classic 2020 was a tennis tournament that took place in Auckland from January 13-18, 2020 . It was part of the ATP Tour 2020 and was played outdoors on hard courts. In the same week the Adelaide International was played in Adelaide , which, like the ASB Classic, was part of the ATP Tour 250 category .

Last year's individual winner was Tennys Sandgren . The duo of Ben McLachlan and Jan-Lennard Struff won the tournament in doubles last year.

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players in the singles each received a bye in the first round.

qualification

The qualification took place on January 10th and 11th, 2020. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament. There was also a lucky loser.
