Aubessagne

Aubessagne is a municipality with 698 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the French department of Hautes-Alpes in the region of Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur . It belongs to the canton of Saint-Bonnet-en-Champsaur in the Gap arrondissement .

It was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2018 through the amalgamation of the previous municipalities of Chauffayer , Les Costes and Saint-Eusèbe-en-Champsaur , which were not granted the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are in Chauffayer.

Aubessagne is about 60 kilometers south-southeast of Grenoble on the Drac . Aubessagne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Firmin in the north, Saint-Jacques-en-Valgodemard in the east and north-east, La Motte-en-Champsaur in the east, Saint-Bonnet-en-Champsaur in the south and south-east, Poligny in the south and south-west , Le Noyer in the west and southwest and Le Glaizil in the west.

The national route 85 runs through the municipality .
