Bellova Ves (Hungarian Vittény ) is a municipality in southwest Slovakia with 326 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It belongs to the Okres Dunajská Streda , part of the Trnavský kraj .
geography
The municipality is located in the northern part of the Great Schüttinsel , part of the Slovak Danube lowlands . The center of the village is located at an altitude of 119 meters and is 20 kilometers from Dunajská Streda .
Neighboring communities are Nový Život in the west and north, Blahová in the east and Lehnice in the south.
history
Bellova Ves was founded in the 1920s after the first Czechoslovak land reform as a colony at the old Vitény farm . The colony was divided into a total of eight cadastral communities and in 1929 had 310 inhabitants. In 1938 there were 26 Moravian, 25 Slovak, 9 Hungarian and one Czech families living in Bellova Ves.
1938-45 the village belonged again to Hungary due to the First Vienna Arbitration . After the end of World War II, the place was first part of Tonkovce and was spun off in 1955. From 1976 to 1990 Bellova Ves was part of the Blahová municipality, and since 1991 it has been independent again.
population
According to the 2011 census, Bellova Ves had 229 inhabitants, including 130 Slovaks, 76 Magyars, three Czechs and one Moravian. 19 residents did not answer. 131 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, ten residents to the Evangelical Church AB and one resident each to the Jehovah's Witnesses, the Greek Catholic Church and the Congregational Church. 43 residents had no denomination and 32 residents had no denomination.
