Dobrohošť (Hungarian Doborgaz ) is a municipality in southwest Slovakia with 515 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It belongs to the Okres Dunajská Streda , part of the Trnavský kraj .
geography
The municipality is located in the western part of the Great Schüttinsel , part of the Slovak Danube lowlands, and is located on a strip of land between the power station canal of the Gabčíkovo hydropower station and the old river bed of the Danube (also the state border with Hungary ) as well as some riparian forests. The center of the village is at an altitude of 122 m nm and is eleven kilometers from Šamorín , 21 kilometers from Dunajská Streda (both via the Vojka -Kyselica ferry ) and 35 kilometers from Bratislava .
Neighboring communities are Báč in the north, Kyselica in the east, Dunasziget in the south, very briefly Dunakiliti in the south-west and Šamorín in the west and north-west.
history
The place was first mentioned in writing as Doborgaz in 1238 and belonged to the estate of the Archdiocese of Gran . In 1828 there were 98 houses and 728 inhabitants.
Until 1919, the place in Pressburg County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia. 1938-45 he was again in Hungary due to the First Vienna Arbitration .
In 1965 Dobrohošť, like many other places on the Big Island, was hit by a devastating flood .

According to the 2011 census, Dobrohošť had 428 inhabitants, of which 299 were Magyars, 109 Slovaks and three Czechs. 17 residents gave no answer. 330 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, four residents to the Evangelical Church AB and one resident each to the Bahaitum, the Evangelical Methodist Church and the Reformed Church; one resident professed a different denomination. 51 residents had no denomination and 39 residents had no denomination.
