history
Today's community was created in 1940 through the merger of the previously independent towns Búštelek , Dolné Janíky and Horné Janíky (then in Hungarian : Bústelek , Alsójányok and Felsőjányok ). All three districts of the Janíky municipality remain to this day.
The original place was first mentioned in writing as Januk in 1287 and belonged to the Jánoky family . In the 14th century it was divided into three places: 1311 Janyk Superior (for Horné Janíky), 1341 Janyk Inferior (for Dolné Janíky) and 1360–69 Bwsthelek an Kysjanok (for Búštelek) is mentioned. In 1553 the three places had a total of 25 portals : 13 in Dolné Janíky and six each in Búštelek and Horné Janíky. Important landowners in the 15th and 16th centuries were the Bratislava Poor Clares and nuns from Óbuda, and in the 19th century the Esterházy and Zichy families.
Until 1919, the places in Pressburg County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia. 1938-45 they were again in Hungary due to the First Vienna Arbitration .
