history

Today's municipality was created in 1960 through the merger of the previously independent towns Malá Lúč (Hungarian Kislúcs ) and Veľká Lúč (Hungarian Nagylúcs ).

The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1248 in a document of the Pressburg Dénes team as Luche . In 1295 it was divided into four independent sub-towns, known as Byke Luche , Chugud Luche , Superior Luche and Zylos Luche .

The village later known as Nagylúcs belonged first to the Dóczy family , then to various members of the lower nobility, in 1553 to the Lipcsey and Pálffy families , who owned six and nine portals , respectively. In the 17th century the Aranyossy family had larger estates, after which the property was more distributed. In 1828 there were 46 houses and 334 inhabitants, whose main source of income was agriculture.

Today's second district, Kislúcs , was part of the Gelle estate , today's Holice. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the Pálffy family were the largest landowners in the village. In 1828 there were 25 houses and 185 inhabitants, also primarily employed in agriculture.

Until 1919, the places in Pressburg County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia. 1938-45 they were again in Hungary due to the First Vienna Arbitration .
