Kútniky (until 1948 "Hegyéte" in Slovak; Hegyéte in Hungarian ) is a municipality in southwest Slovakia with 1430 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It belongs to the Okres Dunajská Streda , part of the Trnavský kraj .
geography
The municipality is located in the central part of the Great Schüttinsel , part of the Slovak Danube lowlands . Southeast of the channel Kútniky Gabčíkovo-Topoľníky extends between the Danube - power plant Gabčíkovo and Little Danube . The center of the village is at an altitude of 115 m nm and is three and a half kilometers from Dunajská Streda .
Neighboring communities are Veľké Dvorníky in the north, Ohrady in the northeast, Dolný Bar in the east, Mad in the south, Povoda in the southwest and Dunajská Streda in the west.
history
Today's community was created in 1960 through the merger of the following places, which remain cadastral communities to this day:
- Blažov (area 5.424 km², Hungarian Balázsfa )
- Heďbeneéte (area 3.388 km², Hungarian Hegybeneéte )
- Töböréte (area 2.174 km², Hungarian Töböréte )
The original place was first mentioned in writing in 1240 as Ety . A total of seven villages developed from the original place, some of which still have the suffix -éte .
Until 1919, the places in Pressburg County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia. 1938-45 they were again in Hungary due to the First Vienna Arbitration .
From 1960 to 1990, Povoda was also part of the Kútniky municipality.
population
According to the 2011 census, Kútniky had 1259 inhabitants, of which 994 were Magyars, 235 Slovaks, eleven Czechs, two Germans and one each from Moravia, Poles and Serbs; three residents stated a different ethnic group. Eleven residents made no statement. 955 residents committed to the Roman Catholic Church, 83 residents to the Reformed Church, 31 residents to the Evangelical Church AB, nine residents to the Evangelical Methodist Church, seven residents to the Jehovah's Witnesses, five residents to the Greek Catholic Church and three residents to the Orthodox Church Church; four residents professed a different denomination. 130 residents had no denomination and 32 residents had no denomination.

traffic
Road No. 63 ( Bratislava –Dunajská Streda– Komárno ) runs through the district of Töböréte ; west of Blažov and Töböréte there is a stop on the Bratislava – Komárno railway line .
