Malé Dvorníky (Hungarian Kisudvarnok ) is a municipality in southwest Slovakia with 1156 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It belongs to the Okres Dunajská Streda , part of the Trnavský kraj .
geography
The municipality is located in the Slovakian Danube lowlands on the river island Žitný ostrov . The soil is fertile and very suitable for agriculture, there are some swamps closer to the Little Danube . The center of the village is at an altitude of 115 m nm and is three kilometers from Dunajská Streda .
Neighboring towns are Malé Blahovo (belonging to the town of Dunajská Streda), Dunajský Klátov and Veľké Dvorníky .
history
Archaeological finds on the Kápolnadomb hill show that the area was inhabited from the time of the Celts and Avars .
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1252 and was inhabited by servants of the Pressburg Castle . In 1356 the name Oduor appears .
Until 1919, the place in Pressburg County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia. Due to the First Vienna Arbitration Award , he was again in Hungary from 1938 to 1945.
1960–1990 Malé Dvorníky was merged with the neighboring village Veľké Dvorníky in the municipality Dvorníky na Ostrove .
In 2013 the municipality won the all-Slovak round of the “Village of the Year” competition, having received an award in the “Village as a partner” category in 2009.

According to the 2011 census, Malé Dvorníky had 1038 inhabitants, including 920 Magyars, 113 Slovaks and two Czechs. Three residents made no statement. 873 residents professed their support for the Roman Catholic Church, 69 residents for the Reformed Church, seven residents for the Evangelical Church AB, three residents for the Greek Catholic Church and one resident each for the Orthodox Church, the Evangelical Methodist Church and Judaism. 68 inhabitants had no denomination and the denomination of 15 inhabitants has not been determined
