Trhová Hradská (Hungarian Vásárút , both literally "Market Street") is a place and a municipality in the southwest of Slovakia , with 2158 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It is located in the Okres Dunajská Streda , which is part of the higher administrative unit Trnavský kraj .

Trhová Hradská is located on the Great Schüttinsel (part of the Slovak Danube lowlands ), a river island between the Danube and the Little Danube , the arm of which Klátovské rameno flows past the place. The center of the village is 11 kilometers from Dunajská Streda and 32 kilometers from Galanta .

history

The place was first mentioned in writing in 1245 when King Béla IV donated the place to the Bratislava Chapter. In 1399 a place called Vyfalu (also "Neudorf") is mentioned, in 1406 Vykwrth . In the 16th century the Counts of St. Georgen and Bösing owned goods in the local area. In 1553 there are 36 portals . Since 1752 it was a market town. In 1828 the place had 147 houses and 1047 inhabitants. In the course of the revolutions of 1848/49 a battle between the Honvéden and the imperial army occurred near the place.

Until 1918/19 the in Pressburg County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia . 1938–45 he came to Hungary again on the basis of the First Vienna Arbitration . In 1960 Trhová Hradská was united with the neighboring village Horné Mýto to form the municipality Trhové Mýto (literally "market toll"), but in 1990 it was again divided with the previous municipalities.
