The Fotbollsallsvenskan 1956/57 was the 33rd season of the highest Swedish football league . The season began on July 29, 1956 and ended on June 5, 1957.

Last year's champion IFK Norrköping was able to defend the title and won the Von Rosens Cup for the eighth time in the club's history . The league was clearly dominated and runner-up Malmö FF were seven points behind at the end of the season. Västerås SK and Hammarby IF had to relegate to the second division .
