Gavardo is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 12,359 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Brescia in Lombardy . The municipality is located about 17 kilometers northeast of Brescia in Val Sabbia am Chiese . The lake is located about 6.5 kilometers to the northeast. Gavardo is part of the Comunità Montana della Valle Sabbia .

Gavardo is on Strada Statale 45 to Gardesana Occidentale , which runs from Brescia Airport on the western side of Lake Garda. With the railway line from Rezzato to Vobarno , the railway station in Gavardo was closed in 1968.
